A Five-Minute Practice for Clearer Attention
A short, practical reset for returning to the present when your mind feels scattered.
Attention is not a switch that stays on. It moves, fades, and returns. The useful skill is learning how to invite it back without frustration.
First minute: notice three sounds, including the quietest one you can hear. Second minute: feel where your body meets the chair or floor. Third minute: follow one complete breath from beginning to end.
Fourth minute: name the single task that matters next. Fifth minute: begin that task slowly enough to notice what you are doing.
The mind will wander again. That is normal. Clear attention is not a permanent state; it is the repeated practice of returning.
